We are the Hinchingbrooke Division of Girlguiding, the new local operating name of the Guide Association. This is a voluntary organisation and has something for all girls aged 5 to 105. Various sections offer a challenge to all age groups:
5-7 Rainbows. Girls in this age group enjoy weekly meetings at various locations in the local area. They follow a varied programme enjoying games and crafts and a whole variety of fun activities
7-10 Brownies. Probably the most well known section, Brownies enjoy a varied programme, meeting weekly at various locations in the area. This section has a wider reaching more challenging programme including Pack Holidays. These are short holidays with their Brownie Unit, staying indoors often over a weekend.
10-14 Guides. This section has a very wide and varied programme, including the unique Guiding experience of camping. The girls in this section have great fun, and enjoy challenges and activities often not experienced outside Guiding.
14-26 Senior Section. The young women in this section really love a challenge, and at this level the sky really is the limit. They begin to have some excellent opportunities in overseas travel and community projects as well as completing other well known awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
18- ? Adults. The women involved in this section show real commitment and a sense of fun and adventure. As an adult member we really appreciate any time that you can give. For some that can be a major role, but for many, especially in this busier world is just a short time. All is invaluable and very welcomed. So if you can only spare 1 hour per fortnight, then Girlguiding would love to hear from you, as you could make a real difference.
